About us

The Social Research and Policies Institute is a Bulgarian non-governmental organization working in public interest. It was established with the mission to contribute to the advancement of the Bulgarian society by enriching knowledge on various problematic social issues and promoting and supporting employment of SSH new developments in policies.

A key to achieving the goals of the Institute is the state-of-the-art research conducted by the scientists and experts from leading Bulgarian academic institutions united in the organization. SRPI has grown as a center of excellence in analyzing current social, economic and political processes and phenomena.

Another aspect of the organization’s activity is the support and aid to the development of public and state institutions and their efforts for harmonization with European and world standards and best practices. The Institute develops, supports and evaluates political measures, activities and programs aimed at overcoming social problems and strives to improve the quality of work at all levels and actors relevant to social research and policies. By implementation in the public practice of perspective ideas and notions based on sound theoretical and applied research achievements SRPI works for the improvement of the Bulgarian society and bettering the conditions and quality of life in the country as a whole and of various groups in risk of marginalization in particular.
